Curriculum
Architect, PhD in Design, Assistant professor and Erasmus delegate at the Degree Course in Industrial Product Design, University of Ferrara, Department of Architecture. Since 2005 he has been teaching and researching at university level in the fields of product design, innovation theory, technological project for industrial design, dealing in particular with design for cultural heritage, industry and musical events and exhibition design for urban spaces. He has lectured in three-year and master degree courses at the University of Florence, the University of Ferrara, the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata, and the Superior Institute for Artistic Industries (ISIA) in Pescara. He is a Visiting Professor at the Faculdade de Arquitetura - Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Dongguan University of Technology (China). He is an ordinary member of the Italian Society of Design (SID) and a delegate of the National Council of Architects in the National Commission of the Italian Standards Organisation UNI n°10 - TC/33 ‘Products, processes and systems for the building body’.
He publishes in journals of national and international relevance, including The Design Journal, DIID, MDJournal and for publishers such as Taylor&Francis, Springer Nature, Palgrave Macmillan, Carocci, Franco Angeli, Mimesis. He is an invited speaker at national and international scientific conferences and a member of scientific and editorial boards.
He participates in inter-departmental and inter-university research projects financed by European, national and regional research funds. He coordinates research projects on specific areas related to cultural and creative industries; in this field he holds patents and design deposits (design for the music industry and safeguarding works of art in emergency contexts).
He has designed installations and temporary set-ups for exhibitions of international significance.
He acts as a qualified consultant for public and private clients. He is an External Expert at the European Commission and CTU and Expert at the Court of Arezzo.
A jazz pianist, composer and songwriter registered with SIAE, under the pseudonym Mancinix he has published albums and singles of his own original songs.
