Manuela Incerti, is an architect, PhD and Associate Professor in the disciplines belonging to the group ICAR 17 (Drawing) in the Architecture Department of Ferrara (31 December 2011).
The areas of research present in her SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY are:
1) the advanced survey of monuments and critical reading of the data through the expertise of the Drawing. She has published on this subject in:
- the form-measurement relationship between theoretical model and real model in historical architecture.
- the perspective in the Renaissance Este Court
- the relationships between astronomic geometry – architecture – sources in the middle ages and renaissance. In this field she has also been involved with the relationship between drawing and iconography.
2) the drawing as a tool for the project and for the communication between the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century.
3) the multimedia communication of complex, layered information of the survey following the sequence: survey_model_digital museum.
The use of advanced survey technology in her research, for handling and analysing datai (laser scanner, total Station, digital photogrammetry, disto-3d, data-base) is functional to the construction of a theoretical hypothesis the needs to be verified through comparable, for example by historical period, type, commission.
On these research topics she had more than 100 contributions in journals, proceedings, participations in books, two books edited (edit by), a book.
She has been involved in around 65 conferences of international, national and local nature. Amongst the most important are those of the WHC (Unesco, Parigi, 2009) and the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (2000 e 2012).
Her DIDACTIC ACTIVITY is focused on the sector of surveys (direct and advanced) and of representation through traditional methods, descriptive geometry, digital drawing, the basis of drawing for Design (46 courses since 1997).
