SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY AND PRODUCTION

Professor Preti has contributed to the design and synthesis of a consistent number of bioactive small-molecules of potential interest for the treatment of different pathological conditions. In particular, the early scientific production focused on the development of ligands for the adenosine receptor system, of tubulin inhibitors as anticancer agents and of TRPA1 channel receptor antagonists as potential analgesics. In the last years, Professor Preti has embraced new research projects by establishing new collaborations aimed at the design and synthesis of: a) cardio-neuro protective agents capable of modulating the opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore; c) new Neuropeptide S antagonists; d) new NOP receptor agonists.

As of April 2024, she has co-authored more than 100 publications on international scientific journals and 3 book chapters. She is also co-inventor in 3 international patents, 2 US patents and 4 Italian patents.
