Teaching activity
She has been teaching Microbiology and Virology since 1992 at the School of Medicine, Biology and Pharmacy at the University of Ferrara and the University of Padova.
Research activities
Studies on oncogenic properties of DNA viruses (BK polyomavirus) and RNA viruses (HTLVI). Since 1992 the main research areas have been/are i) pharmacological and therapeutic approaches to inhibit HIV infection; ii) HIV-1 Tat gene activity in cellular and tat-trangenic mice models; iii) HHV-8 and its role in the pathogenesis of Kaposi’s sarcoma and human lymphomas; iv) development of new vaccines against HIV/AIDS; v) immunogenicity and immunemodulation of novel delivery systems for vaccines and gene therapy; vi) development of new vaccines against Herpes simplex virus infection; vii) cellular immune responses after HPV vaccination; viii) immune responses in HCV chronic infection under treatment or not with new direct antiviral agents. She is co-author in more than one hundred publications in international scientific journals and of 5 international patents.
