Curriculum
Dr. Luca Martinelli (LM) graduated in 1995 (Civil Engineering, specialization Hydraulic, University of Ferrara) and obtained his PhD in 1998 (Milan Polytechnics).
Since 1999 he participated to the initial R&D phase of the Wave Dragon, by analysing the floating system dynamics (www.wavedragon.net). He then specialised in the mooring system of Wave Energy Converters (WECs).
Recent projects:
Since 2005, LM is involved in the testing of floating breakwaters in channel and wave basins, in the framework of the 2005 National Relevant Project (Prot. 2005084953) "Modern technologies for cost reduction of harbour structures", with the specific task of investigating the mooring systems and the forces along caissons interconnections.
Since 2008, LM is involved in the 7PQ, R&D project, named CORES, with the role of studying mooring systems of WECs.
