Curriculum

Filippo Poltronieri received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Ferrara, Italy, in 2021. He joined the inter-departmental Distributed System Research Group (https://ds.unife.it), led by Prof. Cesare Stefanelli in 2017. He is currently an Assistant Professor (RTD-A) at the Department of Engineering of the University of Ferrara, where he teaches the “Laboratorio di Reti” course.

Filippo Poltronieri's research interests include Distributed Systems, Cloud Continuum, Digital Twins, and tactical networks. He conducts his research activity with national and international scientists from several institutions as demonstrated by the publications in international journals and conference proceedings. As part of his research career, he has been visiting the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC) in Pensacola, FL (USA) in 2016-2017 and 2018. He also actively collaborates with researchers from several national and international institutions such as: the Ghent University (Belgium), the St. John's University (NY, USA), the IBM TJ Watson Research Center (NY, USA), and the University of Bologna.

Dr. Poltronieri was the deputy director of the higher education initiative "Services and Innovation for Industry 4.0 (SII40)", founded by the Emilia Romagna region (03/2023--07/2023). The SII40 initiative targets enrolled workers and recently graduated master’s students interested in operating in the digital industry field.

Dr. Poltronieri's teaching activities include a “Computer Networks Laboratory” course and a “Computational Intelligence” Ph.D. course at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Ferrara.
