RESEARCH ACTIVITY

The research activity of Federica Zanotto is mainly addressed to the study of corrosion and corrosion protection of metal alloys. The main research topics from 2010 up to 2018 were:

-     Corrosion resistance (pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and intergranular corrosion) of several innovative biphasic stainless steels (LDX 2101®, LDX 2404®, UNS S32304 e UNS S32760) in critical conditions and/or aggressive environments (after thermal aging, media rich in chlorides and sulphides ions).

-     Corrosion resistance of reinforcing bars in alkali-activated fly ash mortars.

-     Corrosion and corrosion protection of bronze and glided bronze in the field of cultural heritage.

-     Corrosion protection of magnesium alloys with eco-friendly silane-based coatings, mono-carboxylate conversion coatings and corrosion inhibition by anionic surfactants.

-     The research activity produced 20 papers in peer reviewed journals, 27 papers in conference proceedings and 2 contributions to edited books. A complete list of the publications can be found in :
