Curriculum

Valentina Frighi (Ferrara, 1989) is an Architect, Teaching Fellow in the CEAR-08/C field (formerly ICAR/12), PhD (IDAUP – XXXII cycle), and Researcher at the Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara.

Since 2018, she has been a member of the Departmental Center LEM – Laboratory of Technology, where she carries out teaching, research, and managerial activities within the Department of Architecture at the University of Ferrara.

Her scientific research spans local, national, and international levels, focusing on innovation in building envelope systems, with particular attention to smart materials and technologies, sustainability, and the regeneration of the built environment. This work is complemented by a significant and consistent publication record, both as a sole author and in collaboration with others, comprising more than 50 contributions, including three monographs and several articles in national and international scientific journals.

Within the Department, she has held and continues to hold various roles, most notably as the Quality Assurance Coordinator (RAQ) for the Master’s Degree Program in Architecture, where she assists the Coordinator in organizational and managerial tasks.

In her professional practice, she combines design activities with scientific consultancy as a freelance. She collaborates on integrated architectural design projects at both the urban and architectural scales, engaging in executive design and applied research on specific case studies with significant disciplinary relevance. This professional activity, closely tied to her academic and scientific field, provides a continuous opportunity to bridge theoretical content with practical applications.
