Coordinator until 2009 of GL 405 “Cogeneration and Poligeneration”, of the SC 04 “Systems and Machines for Energy Production” of the CTI (Italian Thermotechnics Committee), that, from march 2006, has worked to technical standards to support the legislative decree for putting into effect the art. 1, paragraph 86 of the Italian law 239/04 and the Italian legislative decree 20/07 (Bianchi, M., Spina, P. From 2010 he is president of the SC 04 “Systems and Machines for Energy Production” and coordinator of GL 401 “Electric Power Plants and Industrial Gas turbines”, that is part of the SC 04, of the CTI.
He has taken part to the writing of the technical standards UNI 11172:2007 - “Combined Cycle Plants – Acceptance Tests” and UNI 8887:2014 – “CHP Units and Characteristic Indices”.
Principal Investigator of the national research project PRIN 2007 "Distributed CHP for residential applications: development and testing of advanced micro-cogenerators and of an integrated methodology for the energy demand prediction, the design and the optimized management of micro-cogenerators.”.
Coordinator (years 2008-2009) of the research project “State-of-the-art of innovative and efficient technologies for co/tri-generation and in energy systems integrated with heat pumps for industrial and service applications”, within the framework of the Research Fund for the Italian Electrical System under the Contract Agreement between the Ministry of Economic Development and ENEA (http://www.enea.it/it/Ricerca_sviluppo/documenti/ricerca-di-sistema-elettrico/tecnologie-elettriche/rse18.pdf).
