November 1991: Laurea in Matematica from the Universitá degli Studi di Milano, with final marking 110/110 e lode. It was obtained defending the thesis "k-very ample line bundles on quasi elliptic surfaces", Advisor: Prof. M. Palleschi.
December 1991-March 1992 Fellow of the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica in Rome, sponsored by a grant of the Istituto.
March 1992-March 1993: Military service in the Italian Navy.
March 1993-February 1997 PhD student at the Università di Trento with a grant of the PhD program of the Ministero della Università e della Ricerca Scientifica of Italy. Advisor Prof. Marco Andreatta.
Winter 1994 and fall 1995 visiting, for a five months period, of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Warwick-England under the supervision of Prof. Miles Reid.
