Born in Ferrara in December the 12th 1959, she graduated at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ferrara in March the 28th 1984 with a first class (summa cum laude) degree.
From 1985-1986 she attended the doctoral research courses in “Diritto romano e diritti dell’antichità” at the University of Bologna. In September the 11th 1989 she got the degree of “Dottore di ricerca” (PhD).
She won a competitive examination for Researcher in “Diritto romano e diritti dell’antichità” (N18X) and from July the 16th 1990 she was Researcher.
From November the 1th 2001 to October 2006 she was “Professore associato” in Roman Law (IUS/18) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ferrara.
She got the post of “Professore straordinario” in Roman Law (IUS/18) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ferrara from November the 1th 2006 to October 2009.
At the present she is Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ferrara. There she is teaching “Foundations of Roman Law”, “Roman Law”, “Elements of Roman Law”.
She is a member of the staff of the doctoral research courses in “Comparazione giuridica e storico-giuridica” at the University of Ferrara. She is a member of Scientific Committee of Legal Roots. The International Journal of Roman Law, Legal History and Comparative Law.
She is author of several works, including six books, regarding Roman criminal law, family law, law of succession.
She was a member of the Ferrara Unity of PRIN 2008 “Gli studi umanistici nella cultura giuridica europea: bilanci, prospettive e incidenza sul diritto attuale”, funded by MIUR.
