Curriculum
Federica Maietti is Associate Professor s.s.d. CEAR-10/A (Drawing). Architect, she graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ferrara, where she also holds a PhD. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Departmental Centre DIAPReM (Development of Integrated Automatic Procedures for Restoration of Monuments), within which she is responsible for the integrated diagnostic survey area.
Her interdisciplinary research focuses on the survey and representation of existing and cultural heritage for knowledge, enhancement and conservation through digital technologies and 3D surveying and modelling techniques. In this field she has experimented with operational and methodological applications in various national and international contexts.
She is a lecturer in Architectural Drawing, Architectural Surveying, Representation Techniques and Tools and Methods of Spatial Representation, deepening the topics of digitisation and documentation of heritage and drawing for the design process, between manual and digital. She has given several invited lectures at national and international institutions. She is a lecturer at the 2nd level Master's Degree Course “Seismic Improvement, Restoration and Reinforcement of Historical and Monumental Buildings” and at the School of Specialisation in Architectural Heritage and Landscape at the University of Ferrara (Non-Destructive Diagnostics for Cultural Heritage), of which she is a member of the Scientific Committee and a member of the Teaching Council.
Since 2020, she has been a founding partner of the Spin off “Inception”, which was created at the end of the European project “INCEPTION - Inclusive Cultural Heritage in Europe through 3D semantic modelling”, of which she was Technical Coordinator. Since 2020 she is an expert evaluator of projects for the European Commission - Research Executive Agency.
She is a member of the Research Subcommittee of the Research and Third Mission Council of the University of Ferrara.
She is a member of the Academic Board of the IDAUP International Doctorate Programme, and Supervisor of several theses.
She is a member of the Industrial Research Laboratory TekneHub of the University of Ferrara, Technopole of Ferrara, High Technology Network of Emilia-Romagna.
She is a member of UID - Unione Italiana per il Disegno, Scientific Association of the Drawing discipline and a founding member and board member of the REAACH - Representation Advances And Challenges Association.
She is a member of the ICOMOS CIPA-HD Documentation of Cultural Heritage Scientific Committee, within Area 2 “Technology and Diagnostics” of the National Scientific Committees.
She is a member of the International Board of the research group INSIDE Modern Heritage (International Network for Studies, Investigations, Documentation and Enhancement of Modern Heritage).
She has been and she is involved in various national, European and international research activities, as scientific leader and member of research groups. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Urban Landscape (Paesaggio Urbano) and of the Reviewer Board of Remote Sensing (EISSN 2072-4292). As a reviewer, she collaborates with several international journals.
Since 2006, she has been a speaker at several national and international conferences. She is the author of more than three hundred publications on the topics of integrated digital survey, heritage documentation, drawing, advanced modelling and thematic surveying for the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage.
