Short biography

Full professor of Hydraulics at the Department of Engineering of the University of Ferrara, Italy, since 2017. Coordinator of the Degree Programs in Civil Engineering since 2015.

Author/co-author of about 140 publications including international journals, international conferences, national journals and national conferences.

Main research topics: numerical integration of the shallow water equations with fixed and mobile bed; dam-break hydraulic transients; theoretical-analytical treatment of classical problems in free surface flows; hydraulic jump dynamics in prismatic, divergent and converging channels; unsteady flow in viscoelastic conduits; numerical modelling of blood vessels; experimental analysis of two-phase flows around different obstacles; applied topics of national (Po river) and regional (Emilia Romagna, Toscana) interest.
