Work Activities

He is author or co-author of about 150 papers on peer reviewed journals, 12 book chapters and 1 patent. He has extensively presented his work in international and national conferences.

He is member of Editorial Board of Chromatographia (Springer) and Member of Separations (MDPI).

He was Guest Editor of the special issue titled “Theoretical and practical aspects in the separation of large biomolecules", Journal of Chromatography A, vol. 1218, 8725-8974, 2011

Research Interest

His research activities mainly revolve around separation science, particularly liquid chromatography, and chromatographic-like techniques. They include a variety of theoretical, experimental, and applied aspects of:

  • fundamentals of mass transfer in porous media;

  • molecular recognition mechanisms;

  • analytical and preparative liquid chromatography for the purification and preparation of highly valued molecules;

  • stationary phase characterization and development (including chiral stationary phases);

  • purification of large biomolecules (therapeutic peptides, oligonucleotides, etc.) through innovative countercurrent multicolumn continuous approaches
