- Born in Ferrara the 29/01/1979

- Laurea degree in Material Engineering (cum laude) on 2003 at the Univ. of Ferrara

- Ph.D in Mechanics of Machines on 2007 at the Univ. of Ferrara

- Doctor Europeus Degree in the framework of European Doctorate in Sound and Vibration

- Assistant professor in Mechanics of Machines (S.S.D. ING-IND 13) at the Univ. of Ferrara from 2010 to 2017.

- Associate professor in Mechanics of Machines (S.S.D. ING-IND 13) at the Univ. of Ferrara from 2018.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The research activity is mainly in the field of Noise and Vibrations of Machines, with particular reference to elastodynamic models, condition monitoring, diagnostics and experimental vibration measurements. In particular:

- Mechanical system modelling for the identification of noise and vibration sources for the dynamic behaviour improvement

- Condition monitoring, diagnostics and quality control based on vibro-acoustic analyses in the field of industrial machines, wind turbines, gearboxes

- Noise source localization by means of advanced vibration analysis

- Vibro-acoustic optimization of mechanical structures

- Advanced methods for Multi-Input Multi-output random control testing

Author of more than 120 scientific publications (books, journals, conferences).

 

SUCCESS IN PREVIOUS ITALIAN OR INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

Emiliano Mucchi has been the person in charge of the following research projects founded at national and international level based on anonymous peer review processes:

-2006. Principal investigator of “Progetto Giovani Ricercatori” (founded by University of Ferrara for an amount of 5000€). Title: Vibro-acoustic optimization of complex structure by Transfer Path Analysis and Inverse Boundary Element Method.

- 2013-2015. Coordinator of the Local Research Unit of the Project “Cost Action TUD- TU1105”, (founder by the FP7 framework for an amount of 15.000€). Title “NVH analysis techniques for design and optimization of hybrid and electric vehicles”. Duration: 3 years. http://www.cost.eu/COST_Actions/tud/TU1105.

- 2018. Principal investigator of “Project Camera di commercio industria, artigianato e agricoltura” (founded by University of Ferrara and CCIIAA for an amount of 20.000€). Title: “DIAMANTE: DIAgnostica 4.0 ed e-MAiNTEnance. Utilizzo della robotica industriale per il controllo qualità della produzione, monitoraggio e diagnostica del prodotto".

- 2019. Coordinator of the Local Research Unit of the Project "KINeMa : Knowledge Integration in Neural networs for e-Maintenance" - value 500 k€ - funded by the first national call for research and innovation grants of the  BI-REX Industry 4.0 competence center (50% cofinancing from Italian Ministry for Economic Development). The project has the objective of developing ML algoritms ofr e-maintenance in industries.  Participating companies: IMA, Bonfiglioli Riduttori, Aetna, ENI, Nier, Alascom, Marposs, Mindit.

- 2020 Unit responsible in the project TASC “Trattrici agricole smart and clean”, founded by POR FESR Emilia Romagna 2014/2020,  https://www.tascproject.eu/

- Emiliano Mucchi has been the person in charge of 80 research projects founded by private companies for a total amount of more than 1M€ (e.g.: research contracts with Ducati, Ferrari, CNHi, Carraro Agritalia, Dayco, BMC)
