Welcome to my personal website

I am Professor of Public Economics at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Ferrara.

My research interests lie in the areas of public economics, political economics and EU accounting system. In particular, I am currently involved in a number of theoretical and applied projects, investigating, among other things, the role of lobbying on the efficiency consequences of an equalization system, the role of the size of localities in infrastructure externalities in the impact of fiscal policy changes like the switch from transfers to taxes and vice-versa, the role of localities' networking in saving money when providing local public goods, the impact of decentralizing decision making on the fuel subsidies for developing countries. I am also involved in a project trying to match local and national budget accounting rules.

I am a Research Fellow of IEB. From September 2015 I am member of the Executive Board of The Italian Society of Public Economics (SIEP).

In the page titled 'research and publications' you will find my latest working papers: comments/thoughts are very welcome.
