SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
My research is mainly devoted to the study and construction of numerical methods for nonlinear differential equations of hyperbolic and kinetic type. These problems were addressed in several fields of applied sciences (gas dynamics, semiconductors, plasma physics, granular materials, porous media, thin films, shallow water, quantum mechanics, traffic flow, socio-economics, finance, etc..). The results are reported in about 100 scientific publications and 3 books. Here is a short summary of the research topics I have been involved in chronological order.
