Scientific Coordinator of the research project between University of Bologna and Ducati Corse S.r.l., developed from 1999 and 2000 on the topic 'Performance improvement of a racing motorbike engine's desmodromic valve train'. Development of advanced methods for monitoring and diagnostics, based on vibration and acoustic emission analysis, in the fields of machinery faults and cutting tools. Mathematical modelling and simulation of the vibrations and the elastodynamic behaviour of mechanical systems. Use of models for diagnostics.
