1986-1990. Assistant Professor at the Service of “Monitoring of Antibiotic Therapy of AIDS” at Institute of Infectious Diseases of “La Sapienza University”, Rome, Italy;
1992-2005. Associated Professor at Infectious Diseases, Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, University of Ferrara.
Since 2005. Full Professor of Infectious Diseases at University of Ferrara and since 2002, Director of the School of Specialization of Infectious Diseases, University of Ferrara.

Professor Carlo Contini has filed an International Patent: “Use of terbinafine for the therapeutic treatment of pneumocystosis” (Patent: United Stated Patent; Application US19950525526 on 1995-09-12; Publication: 1998-02-17).
He has contributed to the preparation of molecular diagnostic kits for Chlamydia trachomatis (REALQUALITY RS-CHLAM T, code RQ-S33: Kit for identification and quantification of Chlamydia trachomatis, AB Analytica Advanced Medicine).

Professor Contini is Chief of the Section of Infectious Diseases and Dermatology, Department of Medical Sciences and vice-Director of the Medical Department of “University Hospital, S. Anna”, Ferrara. He teaches in the Ph.D. School of Pharmacology and Molecular Medicine of “University” of Ferrara. He is member of Accademy of Sciences of Ferrara.
He has been Member of the Ethics Committee of the Province of Ferrara.
